Chocolate Ganache

It’s February…snow is falling, temperatures are cool, but things are about to get hot and steamy. Lol, it’s only 9 more days till Valentines day! The countdown is on. Now, we can’t help you find a date if you’re flying solo. However, we certainly are going to do our best and provide you with some HOT and steamy recipes…or at best provide you with some solid chocolate options to share with that someone special or maybe eat away your feelings?!? There’s no judgment from us. Ever.

We both felt it was important to give you this recipe first because we’re going to use it in different forms for a few different recipes. Using only two ingredients, that’s right- two; use it whipped or just plain and thickened ever so slightly…the most incredible chocolate sauce ever. Alright, are you ready for this?

Simply pour the cream into a pot on low heat. Once the cream is warmed, add the chocolate and begin to stir.

Continue to stir, the chocolate will melt quickly and you don’t want your cream to burn. We found a small whisk worked best and allowed the chocolate to fully incorporate.

Once the chocolate is fully melted, you’re done. Now’s the time to decide if you need a chocolate sauce to pour or a whipped topping…or maybe both!? If you’re making a whipped topping or even want a slightly thicker sauce for pouring, you’ll need to transfer into a mixer bowl. Then beat on medium speed until desired thickness is reached. Or until a full whipped topping is created.

Seriously, that’s all there is to it! It’s that easy to be cupid in the kitchen this Valentine’s day.

Chocolate in it’s glory. Either a thick smooth pouring sauce, or incredibly rich whipped topping. Need we say more?

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whipping cream

  • 1 cup chocolate (either milk or dark, whatever your preference)

Directions

  • On low heat, pour whipping cream into saucepan and begin to warm.
  • Add chocolate and stir well.
  • Continue to stir until chocolate fully melted and incorporated well into whipping cream.
  • If making a thicker sauce or whipped topping, pour into mixer bowl.
  • Mix on medium speed until desired chocolate sauce thickness or whipped topping is created. Give this time, if making whipped topping it will take approximately 10 minutes.
  • That’s it! Stacey and Meg

We know, you’re asking yourself, why have I never made this yet before?
