Crispy Pickles

If you’ve never had a fried pickle, you haven’t lived. Lol, seriously. These have to be one of the best crunch combos we think ever invented. The crispy outside mixed with the crunchy pickle is unbelievably perfect.

This pub fare snack is definitely a treat when you find it on the menu. Now you can enjoy at home, and it’s gluten-free! It’s so easy to make and the recipe works well in both an oil deep fryer, an air fryer, or simply in a pot with oil. Because the pickle doesn’t need to be cooked inside, the oil temperature is less temperamental to watch as well. It’s just important to ensure the crispy batter gets cooked the whole way through!

Using CUT flour, and a few other ingredients, you’ll have these pickles whipped up in no time! First mix the batter and then roll them in a gluten-free PANKO bread crumb for extra crisp.

We loved the outcome of this recipe using the Pampered chef Air fryer. It made the batter perfectly cooked through, the Panko browned and the best part? No additional oil was needed. The end result was a lighter fried pickle.

Although we do understand that not everyone has an air fryer. Don’t stress it! We also fried these just in canola oil, in a frying pan on the stove top. They worked out beautifully!

The pickles can be cut either in spears which we show but also are fun cut as a medallion. Ensure your pickles are dry before starting, then it’s just a matter of cutting, battering and rolling in the Panko before frying. It doesn’t matter whether you’re air or oil frying! You’ll end up with an incredible crunchy snack or appetizer.
